Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting – Gas Engines and Compressors
- Provide expert-level support during equipment commissioning, operation, technical sales calls, and PM activities
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site or remotely with minimal supervision.
- Recommend improvements or modifications based on failure analysis and performance trends as per OEM recommendations.
- Field Service Operations
- Assisted by OEM expat, lead and supervise service activities at customer sites, including installation, alignment, testing, and start-up of rotating equipment.
- Ensure that service operations are executed safely, efficiently, and within agreed timelines.
- Coordinate with internal logistics and planning teams to prepare tools, spare parts, and manpower ahead of interventions.
- Client & Project Interface
- Act as the main technical point of contact for AIG during and after service interventions.
- Prepare and present detailed service reports and technical findings to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Support sales and after-sales teams by providing technical input for service proposals or upgrades.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of service interventions, equipment performance, and technical recommendations.
- Ensure all activities are compliant with company standards, client specifications, and applicable HSE guidelines.
- Team Development & Knowledge Transfer
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians, sharing best practices and field experience.
- Support continuous improvement by feeding back field insights to design and engineering teams.
- Travel & Availability
- Willingness to travel frequently (domestic/international) based on project requirements, sometimes on short notice.
- Flexibility to be on-call for urgent technical support or site mobilization.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in field service or technical support roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience working with at least some of the following equipment:
(Gas Turbines, Air Compressors, Reciprocating Gas Compressors, Gas Engines, Diesel Engines, Electric Motors) - Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective leadership and communication skills.
- Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
